A List to Live By – The Most Powerful Force in Life: Love

There are many forces that shape a life. — Ambition, Discipline, Knowledge, Opportunity.

All of them matter. But none of them carry the weight… or the impact… of love. Love is the force that changes everything.

Love Is More Than a Feeling

We often reduce love to emotion. Something we feel, something we fall into, something that comes and goes. However, real love is not passive. It’s a choice.

The following are places where love shows up; patience when it would be easier to react, forgiveness when it would be easier to hold on, presence when it would be easier to be distracted, commitment when it would be easier to walk away

Love is not proven in perfect moments. It’s revealed in difficult ones.

The Strength Behind Love

Love is often mistaken for softness but there is nothing weak about it.

Love requires: Courage to be vulnerable, strength to stay when things are hard discipline to act with care, even when emotions fluctuate.

It asks us to rise above ego, to listen more than we speak, to give without always expecting something in return. That takes strength.

The Impact of Love

Love changes people. Not through force or through pressure. but through consistency.

A person who feels seen behaves differently, a person who feels valued grows differently, a person who feels supported stands differently. Love creates environments where people can become more of who they are meant to be and that impact reaches far beyond a single moment. It becomes legacy.

Love in Everyday Life

Love isn’t found only in big gestures it’s built in small, daily choices:

Checking in on someone, offering encouragement, being fully present in a conversation, choosing kindness when it’s not convenient. These moments don’t always stand out but they add up and over time, they define relationships.

Loving Yourself

This is where many people struggle. We give love outward easily.
But inward? Not always.Self-respect, boundaries, honest reflection. These are all forms of love. Without them, love for others becomes unbalanced. Sustainable love starts within.

Living the List

A List to Live By is about principles that hold steady. Love belongs at the top of that list. Not as a feeling to chase — but as a standard to live by.

Sincerely Peggy
