Time to Rest

Ahh! 5 Days of rest.

That is great you say! Yes it is. It took me until day 3 to get to a point of being relaxed and that I knew going in, however I was able to get to the point of relax. It meant spending a bit of time on my own and I am good with that and so was the group that I was with. This was a time for all of us to step away from our crazy/busy lives and just be!

This was a getaway with a few women from my local area who wanted to have a girls/ladies get away and everyone wanted to do this for different reasons. For me this timing and event was a godsend. I am so glad that I agreed to get on board when this conversation started.

We stayed at a beautiful home in Florida that has a lovely screened in heated pool and backed on to a golf course. Lots of large mature trees created shade on the home, making the back outdoor area an amazing place to unwind and relax and make good use of the pool. Believe me I definitely did.

It was lovely to spend time with 4 other ladies that I really did not know well. It is amazing to me how you live in the same community and not realize that there are such great people so close by.

The first 2 days I struggled to find a relax groove. I had my laptop with me and I had a few things that needed my  attention so I did deal with these things. However by the 3rd day I was finally at a place of being able to leave the laptop in the bedroom and read my book, work on a small craft that I had picked up at the Hobby Lobby store and when I felt like I needed to get up and moving I went in the pool.

I did do some shopping with the girls one day and had a very successful day! I love buying things on sale and this was definitely a great deal. I am not a great shopper to begin with, I have to be in a good mood to enjoy it however I walked into this store and the first item I picked up fit me like a glove, the second item, as well and then a third item as well. So now I am on a roll! I check out a few more things and found another deal – Buy 1 and get 2 free! Yes, my kind of deal! I took advantage of that as well. All in all I spent $126 and saved $296 I would call that a success!

If I was to do it again, 7 days would be better for me. It would allow me the opportunity to enjoy a couple more days and maybe venture out to go and see a few things. For this time it was and needed to be a time of relax and unwind. That was my goal and that is what I accomplished.

In the last few months I have dealt with an overwhelming amount of change and life. God in his wisdom knew that I would need this break and with the people that I was with.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that was presented and for the rest that I was able to enjoy. It gives me the ability to regroup and create my success journey.

Feel free to share your experiences of taking rest!

Cheers

Peggy
