This to shall pass – keep moving!

As I take some time to reflect on time gone by it makes me smile.

There have been many a challenge along the way and I am here to tell you that while much of it was not easy, I made it through this far and do not plan on stopping any time soon.

I have been described as a ‘long game’ person. Let me share what I mean by that. Many a successful person will tell you that success does not come overnight. It is many small steps that lead to one day being the right steps, and some wrong ones to learn from, a lot of hard work, consistency, and energy. Over a period of time you can achieve your dreams.

For some of us figuring out what the dream is can be the challenge.

Back in my youth I had no idea what I wanted however the 20/20 vision of the past lets me know that back then I knew I wanted to have a family. Well I did accomplish that. It did not end up totally the way I thought however 22 years of marriage, 7 kids, a business, a bankruptcy, a major move, a divorce, an amicable relationship with my ex (after a few years of pain and stress, and some therapy) and here I am. My youngest turns 20 my oldest are going to be 32 next year. So in fact I did accomplish this dream and if I say so myself, despite all of the challenges along the way we are a great family. Do we have our challenges, absolutely yes, however we are a tight family that loves and respects one another for who we are.

So now on to my next dream that started back in the years of 2010 to 2013, somehow, some way I wanted to get involved in the world of real estate. At the time I had thought that being an agent/salesperson would be something I could do but at the time I was in a world of chaos. Good chaos – a family – a business – a home – etc. So the dream needed to get put on the shelf. It never left, it was always there in the background.

The circumstances of life has lead me to different jobs, leadership roles, management roles, admin roles, customer service roles. All of these things have helped to teach me different skills that I needed to work well in the eventual role I wanted in real estate. In the meantime my kids have succeeded in the trades. The opportunity was presenting despite my insecurities and despite my budget. November of 2022 I started taking the necessary courses. 1 at a time I worked through them and now in 2024 I have accomplished the education and have graduated from the course of Real Estate Salesperson and have connected with a team that has integrity and a successful track record and a team that I can proudly stand by as a business that supports community.

So back to my title! This to shall pass – keep moving!

You will run into roadblocks and challenges along the way, you can use them to learn and grow or you can let them hold you back. You get to choose how you will let life impact the decisions you make. Take ownership of you and keep moving forward. Be that example to those around you that whatever life throws at you it is possible to persevere.

There is no right way or wrong way. Just like parenting, there is no rule book per se, yes there are lots of written books out there to help you but each person will handle it differently than another. So to will be the success of your career and your impact on the community you serve.

Be the light and the inspiration to others around you.

And that is what I have for today! Cheers!

Peggy
